error code: POST/16/4096

After running hardware profiler, the system check said the my logic board was "ok" but after reading posts on other sites, the error code I got, post/16/4096, means i need a new logic board. Does anybody have info on this matter?

Thanks,

Charlie

apple tech said it would be 75 bucks to hook it up to their machines. He said 600 plus labor for new mobo. Also, he said they are not hard to install and MUCH cheaper to order (independently). I am finding prices of 300 - 500 online. I am 99% sure that it is logic board after reading other posts.

Almost 3 years in december and already a new mobo? This is not expected especially since I have kept it in studio, n/s, and plugged into a UPS the whole time.

Your thoughts?
