I have on old G3 and I need to wipe it's hard drive. It doesn't have any OS on it currently. Other than that it's fine. Can someone help me?

synced,

Welcome to the Discussions.

Please identify which model G3 you have:

Do you have any bootable CDs for this model?

Will the powerbook start up to the flashing '?' on the gray screen, or is there no life at all?

If you are concerned about privacy, you can always as a last resort remove the HD. Not sure from your post if you would like to make a working powerbook or are planning to dispose of it.

Though the model wasn't on the link you guys showed me I did some searching on the back of my G3 and found that it was an m6497, after I did some searching on the web I realized that I posted this topic in the wrong category, is there a way for me to move this question to the appropriate forum? (sorry) If anybody is interested though, I DO NOT want to destroy the drive I just want to clear it so I can start using it again because ALL the data (including the boot sector) is corrupt.
