When I try to download QuickTime, I get an error about locating a folder to download the .msi file? I have had problems with my iTunes, so I'm starting from scratch. I uninstalled everything, and am VERY stuck getting Quicktime downloaded so I can start trying to get iTunes redownloaded.

Doublechecking something before proceeding. Is your previous version of
QuickTime still installed? (According to your Add/Remove Programs control panel?)
If it is still installed, do you also get a message about a missing QuickTime.msi file when you try to uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs?
I am having the same problem...trying to uninstall through the Control Panel and it can't finish the uninstall until I locate the Quicktime.msi file.
Brings up Error saying "shared network resource unavailable" and wants me to locate the path. I have searched my entire drive and the two files I find won't work.
I am pressing the "Repeat button" here. I have the exact same problem with not being able to uninstall an old version of QuickTime in order to download the new version which my sons new iPod classic needs. I have tried all those recommendations of what to do on the Apple support site, but none have worked.
It really annoys me having to spend load of time on a problem which not only I can not solve. Is it possible to that some QuickTime technician can address this problem and provide ud with a solution. Needles to say, my son is very disappointed that he can not get his new iPod up and running.
I have looked all over the Apple site to find a contact/trouble shooter e-mail address which I can write to and address my problem!!!!!
that is happening to me:
when i try to uninstall Quicktime from add/remove programs, i get the message about quicktime.msi.
when i previously tried to upgrade itunes it wouldnt work, aomething about my aol software? so i thought i would try to remove itunes and quicktime then reinstall it. i thought i had done that successfully but when i try to download itunes and quicktime, it gives me a message about a newer version of quicktime is still installed, and so when i try to remove quicktime i get the .msi message.
