PDF's Background Transparent

I just imported a PDF and the white background is appearing transparent in Keynote.

How can I make the background show up as white?

You can put a white square behind it. In many cases PDFs intended for print don't have a background colour specified in the file, and thus to Keynote they appear without a background, which is generally the correct behaviour for PDF graphics, but can be a bit of a pain if it is a page from a document instead. Just adding a white object behind the PDF solves the problem.

You can also open the .pdf in Preview, do a File -> Save As... and choose PNG. Drop that png into Keynote and it'll look like you expect it to. Give it a drop shadow to add to the effect.

Thanks for the suggestions. Instead I am re-exporting the InDesign files with a white box background. I want to keep with PDFs for the scalability.
