Macbook Top Case Replacement Cost

So I spilled a small amount on the top case of my keyboard. I see hundreds of these posts on here asking the cost, and nobody will give a number.

Assuming only the top case is damaged, a part I can buy personally and install, how much will it cost at an Apple store to replace?

Also, will doing this myself following a guide void my warranty?

You will have to get a quote. None of us would have any idea how much Apple would charge for the repair. You can do a search for MacBook repairs and get some ideas on what it would cost for them to do it.

I feel "none of us" isn't the answer here. I am looking to see if someone has actually done this through apple recently.

If nobody responds in a day or so I'll just forget it.

I'll even post what they quoted me later.

I recently had a spill, and it damaged parts inside the computer. For this major repair, it was around 800. If it is only the upper case, it will probably just be what they call "minor damage" which is around 450, from what they told me. However, this is Apple doing the repair, which I would recommend. I don't know the price of just buying the parts, however any repair you do yourself will void any warranty you may have. If you spilled on the keyboard, my guess is it caused some damage inside the computer, however I don't know how much you spilled. Hope this helps.

I have found a few that are advertised authentic apple products, and I hope they are, for $155. If I follow the ifixit guide

would apple be able to know later down the road I repaired the system myself? The guide only shows standard screws being removed...

I have seen the part sold 4 $250. I believe it is less now as the LCD is downto $249.

Depends if there is a serial number on the part or not. Also depends on the technician. His mood and work ethic.

Also clean it well and take it to the mac store and you may get it fixed for 00.00. worth a shot
