Sony PMW-EX1 XDCAM EX Edit Concerns

Hi,
I'm looking forward to the release of the new Sony Sony PMW-EX1 XDCAM EX camera.
Does anyone know of any possible conflicts or problems with my present editing set-up? Hardware or Software?
Currently I am editing on a:

2.5GHz Quad-core PowerPC G5
4GB DDR533 NON ECC 4X1GB
2X500GB Serial ATA-7200rpm
16x SD DL(DVD-R/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GF 6600 256 SDRAM
Final Cut Studio 5.0.1
Boris FX 9

oh my goodness, that wont work at all ....
just joking hardware wise, but seriously, are you using FCP 5.0.1 as you suggest or did you mean FCP 6.0.1? if you are using FCPv5.0.1 then you'll need to upgrade FCP as the codecs for XDCAM HD were not introduced until version 5.1.2

A software upgrade to the latest version of FCP is easy enough.
Will I still be able to use the same mac?

absolutely, a quad G5 is no slouch and will handle XDCAM with ease

To back up Andy,

We're cutting XDCAM HD on a few dual processor G5's here, and they're working just fine.

Sony has mentioned to us that the EX1 will be using the same XDCAM HD codec as its counterparts. That codec is already available with FCP since version 5.1.2.

Sony's new transfer app is what will be updated to be able to read the EX1 memory cards. I've heard no word on a release date yet for version 2.

Sony released a free downloadable version of his xdcam ex browsing software.

But it seems to be Macintel only...
I have a PowerMac G5 too and I was very excited by the new Sony, but I'm very sad to see that my G5 is now oldschool...
