Ipod touch - Glittery screen !

Does your IPT screen look "glittery" with full brightness on a black background?

Picture (it shows more than you can see in real life) - you have to look really close to see it in person.

It's not dead pixels (or stuck), there's one stuck pixel on the picture tho, but i'm talking about all the "glitter"... Seems like the backlight is getting trough some of the pixels (which it shouldn't) I've seen pictures on IPT that doesn't have this problem

Do you got this?

Those ARE stuck pixels. If you have it less than 14 days, HURRY up to the store you got it from and get it replaced. I went through 5 before I found a perfect one. Avoid serial numbers starting with 9Cxxxx. The one I have which is perfect starts with 1Axxxx. Also don't forget to restore it before taking it back cos I see it's jailbroken 🙂.

You can't see stuck pixels in other colors other than black bc they are actually white making it very difficult to see. DEAD pixels can be seen more easily in pure color screens bc they're black. I know what I'm talking about bc I have been through FIVE iPTs with the SAME problem as yours. They ARE stuck pixels. Exchange it!

no thats not an issue
those bleeding edges just creates a horrific experience on the black reproduction part.

But to the guy who made this, those are too specific to be stuck pixels, and some of the green/blue on the icons are still showing. I think there might be something wrong with ur hardware or software. If restoring it does not work, than return it. !

Its NOT dead or stuck pixels.....I posted before about 'green sparkles'.
They are microscopic particle which catch the backlight....they vary in size (pixels do not) and as you angle the screen they come and go and also change colour from red to green to blue at the specs sit over different sub-pixels dependant on screen angle and viewers eye line.
A stuck sub-pixel will remain lit and very obviouse on a black screen regardless of angle and backlight brightness. Some people maybe really unlucky and have both but they are distinctly different. One is a screen fault Stuck/dead pixels) and one (the sparkles) are an assembly issue. I have an 8gig week 38 and a 16 gig week 38 one is a 1D38 and one a 1A38. I also had the thought that the particles may be present in the coatingon the front membrane of the LCD and a manufacturing fault direct from whoever makes these screens for apple. I have kept both units as they are only noticable on max backlight (that washes out the blacks) and with your nose pressed against the screen. Trust me having had 3 MacbookPro's with stuck pixels and 2 Macbooks with the same i'm well aware what they look like and this particular issue is NOT stuck or dead pixels.

You don't make any sense. If it's a microscopic issue, don't you need a microscope to see it? In all I care, these sparkles which can be seen in dark images don't move, they have the same color at all times consenquently stuck to their very specific area ARE stuck pixels. Discussing their real name is silly, the guy has a screen problem for all we care and he should replace the thing. That's all. I don't care if their description is stuck pixel, John or Mary. It's a screen defect point blank.

I know that it isn't stuck pixels or whatever, but i do know that it bothers me. And it might get worse by time (which is really why I would change it, i don't bother the glitter itself even tho i have full brightness on, i need to be very near the screen too see it, but it bothers me that it isn't "perfect" and can get worse by time)... I'll probably call apple next week.

I have an appointment at the genius bar tomorrow concerning my touch (serial no. 1B741...)

My screen looks glittery at the home screen, and when I view photos or videos, the blacks show up very badly - they appear as black and grey dots instead of one smooth colour. When I first got the iPod the picture was fine, so hopefully I'll get a replacement.

Another note, I bought this iPod in New York, and I live in the UK, and the Meadowhall Apple Store have no problem with looking at it and replacing it if necessary according to the manager who I called earlier today.

I will post when I get back with the result and whether anyone else with this problem can hope to get their touch repaired or replaced.
