pro mist filter

Question

pro mist filter

Does anyone have any idea as to how I can emulate a 'pro mist' camera filter in Motion 2? In FCP I'd use the white diffusion in my Natress filters, but I don't have the option of using FCP for this bit of work.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

You might try doubling up your clip, throwing a threshold filter and a blur on the top copy to blur only the highlights, vary the opacity of it to control the effect...

or just blur your second layer and set the blend mode to add or screen...

Thanks very much Patrick. I feel a bit dumb now, as I realised (after nearly a whole day of hunting around) that Magic Bullet Editors works in Motion. So, after banging my head on the table for several hours I ended up using the black and white diffusion settings to get a pretty good aproximation to the rest of my footage, shot with a pro-mist.
