Following a crash and a complete erase-and-install, I sucessfully migrated all my applications and files from my backup, However, while Fusion seems to have migrated, when I open Fusion and then go to the Virtual Machine Library, and then click on "Run" for the Windows XP Home virtual machine, the message comes up "Failed to connect to peer process." I'm fearfull of reinstalling VMware and then Windows XP that I may loose all the data I have in the Windows programs, such as Quicken. How do I work around this? Appreciate help.
Since Fusion is not an Apple product, you'll have a better chance getting a suitable answer to your question by posting it on the VMWare forums, rather than an Apple forum:
Thank you both. Pointing me to the VMware discussion page produced a quick, clear answer. Reinstalling VMware worked and all my former Windows applications and data came through nicely. Relief.
