AirPort doesn't connect after wakeup

When I wake up my computer from sleep, AirPort won't connect to my known wifi network it was connected before the computer went to sleep.

This only affects standard user, with admin users it isn't a problem.

Workaround: I turn AirPort off and on again, than it works.

I have the same problem with my MacBook which I purchased a month ago. It does not matter what wifi I connect to as the problem always occurs when "waking up". I did a fresh install of Leopard Friday and then another on Saturday to no avail. I also booted with Option-Command-P-R and nothing fixed it.

This did not happen on Tiger for the 5 weeks I was running it on my MacBook before upgrading on the 26th.

And today it didn't reconnect. It did for a while, but then it dropped to roughly 50/50. I've noticed that when it doesn't it starts with only the single pip of a strength bar at the bottom, then loses it. I've turned logging on the airport to Debug, nothing there. Looked in local logs, nothing there either.

However, she does have VMWare fusion (I use Parallels). SO I turned it off ("sudo /Library/Application\ Support/VMWare\ Fusion/boot.sh stop" and so far several sleep/wake cycles have come back up connected every single time. There may be a way to stop the VMWare Fusion service via GUI but I've not seen it.

I'll post more info as it comes in.

OK, I've conducted tests for a while. Every time I enable VMWare services, it gets the 50/50 chance of not connecting. When I turn it off, it connects every time just like it used to. I'm not saying this is the cause for everyone, but here it is pretty conclusive. How many having problem systems have VMware Fusion installed?

I was on the phone with Apple Care for over three hours today. I am having the same problem as everyone else here. When my laptop comes out of sleep it looses its connection. The tech says that this is not a known problem even though I have pointed out the discussion threads. For three hours he tried the most remdial stuff while I kept saying that I think there is a trend here, works fine on Tiger, install Leopard and the problem starts the next day. I even asked if anyone monitors these forums to see that this is really becoming a known issue, the tech states that he does not know. So he told me to archieve and reinstall and than pull all my documents back from the archieve. Well after another two hours of work it goes to sleep and looses its connection. I would like my money back and they can have their Leopard back. I would rather have a operating system that works than cover flow and the other 300 improvements that I am really noticing.
