Attaching files by dragging them to Mail icon creates two emails??

Same annoying thing here as well. As the day goes on I go back to mail and have 10-15 blank open mail windows. Please let me know if anyone has found a fix or talks to Apple Care on this one.

This happpens to me if I drag a file from another Space ("Spaces") to the mail icon. If I drag a file from the same space, where mail is placed, it work (I get one mail window with the attached file). Perhaps a Spaces problem?

Doesn't have anything to do with what mouse is used, it happens both with the trackpad and external mice. An empty e-mail is opened instantly when the file is dropped and after about a second yet another message pops up with the file that was dropped attached. Happens with both formatted and unformatted text e-mails set as default.

Is Mail running, in the background, or must it be launched when you do the drop?

It's running. (Oh, and I just noticed that mail wont shut down on its own, has to be forced shut)
But hey, now after the restart it doesn't open two messages any more. Weird. Now it's also asking if I want to save my message before closing the window which wasn't happening before.

having the same problem under the same circumstances. drag a file onto the mail icon and get double new messages. one has a file one does not. using both an external mouse and the trackpad. doesn't seem to make a difference if mail is open or not at the time. buggy.

Confirmed here as well. For me it seems to have nothing to do with Spaces. It happens every time, no matter what.

Well I took the time and sat on the phone with APPPLE CARE for 45 minutes to try to trouble shoot this crazy thing.

How many of you are using Default Folder X? It turns out that I had to go through my LOG-IN items one by one and I found out that whenever Default Folder X is on (either enabled at log in or manually the issue starts)

So for my case it Default Folder X is the culprit!!! I turn Default Folder X off, log out and log in again voila mail works fine.

Just thought I would let you know what worked for me... it would be interesting to know if you guys have that same problem or find other log in items causing the issue.

I don't use Default Folder X and I have the same issue. And I have no time to check my login items one by one!
