IPod Touch Screen Negative Black

Well I just got an 8gb Touch from Costco yesterday.

I tried it out, and I'm about 70% sure I have one of the defective screen where the black is showed wrong.

Is there any Official or real way to test if you have the defective screen.

Also can I go to my Apple store (Even though I bought it at Costco) and have them test it, and replace if I do have the defective one?

i thought mine had it too, but mine passed the lcd screen test, and i just realized the touch just reproduces blacks really crappily. Im pretty sure urs is the same, so dont worry over it.

Where can I find the LCD test?

THe only reason I'm doubting I have a defective one is because I might just be paranoid and be thinking I have the problem even when I dont.

well u can also use it on ur computer, but it was made for the small devices

From what I can see my Ipod is a week 40 One. It starts (Number)(Letter)740 then the rest. From what I can see the 40 is the week 40 etc.

Anyway, From what I can see my touch passes the color test thing (Figure A)
Figure B it failed because I can BARLEY make out the black row.
Figure C it COMPLETLY failed, I cant see ANY squares on my ipod until number 8. All the squares before are not even there, or they are exact color as background.
Figure D it passed because there is no blue when I get white colors.

The only reason I am worried is because it totally failed figure C.

Should I take it into my Apple Store and can they check somehow?

WOW my week 38 didnt do that bad at all, and i got it from costco. DO NOT GIVE IT TO APPLE. THINK ABOUT IT: you bought it with the greatest return policy ever known to man. Exchange it at costco! Theyre the friendliess bunch o people around.

I'm just worried about costco having lots of bad ones, so I'll just keep getting defects.

Apple stores have the new ones (Hopefully non defects)

Is there anyway if i take it to Apple they can verify I have the defect?

I'm getting some bad ones from costco, mostly dead pixels. They gave me a week 38 iPod (8gb) but I ran out of space so I switched to a week 36 (16gb) but theres no way I'm bringing this all the way home to plug it in. So I asked for a different one and they gave me a week 37. It seemed alright but slowly over time the pixels started to get stuck and theres dust behind the screen. I'm just gonna wait it out and then exchange before the holidays.

Took my week 40 back and got a week 38.

Was about the same, and had over 10 dead pixles.

Going to refund it totally, disappointed in the screen.

Maybe in a few months they will get it straight.
