I was hoping that installing a clean system (Leopard) would fix this sync problem, but it didn't. I continuously get an error message which says "Enter the password for your user account on "(null)". No password suffices and only hitting cancel or escape lets the sync proceed. It appears, however, this must be related to contacts as they will not sync. I've done everything I can find to do... unregister computer; reset sync data, delete plists, etc. Anyone have any thoughts?

G4, Mac OS X (10.5), I can send a screen capture of the message if needed!

You are asking in the wrong place, as the technology you refer to—.Mac Sync—is the means by which you synchronize Macintosh desktop and portable computers.

You should search, browse or initiate a query in the .Mac Sync forum instead.

.Mac is undergoing extended 'maintenance' to accommodate new synchronization processes involving the just-released Mac OS X 10.5 operating system, so now—more than ever—your first step in resolving the issue should be filing a support request with .Mac support, using the web form located here.

I had the same problem. If the "(null)" computer's name doesn't appear in the list of the registered computers to sync in the .Mac settings, this error will keep popping up no matter what password you type. Either add that computer back to the registered computers list or rename one of the currently registered computers to the exact same name as "(null)."
