Aperture 1.5.6 Crashing with Leopard

Hi,

I upgraded my G5 running Aperture last night to Leopard and now Aperture will crash (SIGBUS) within 20 seconds of starting up. I thought that perhaps this was a corruption with respect to time machine =si I disabled time machine, zapped the Aperture Library, removed Aperture, reinstalled it, and restored the library from a Vault. Same thing: A few seconds after running and it crashes.

Anyone else running into anything like this? For what it's worth, this is the thread that seems to be crashing:

I also did the 1.5.6 update and when I try to export images it crashes. What's up? I cant get my photos out. This is nuts.

What process did you do the upgrade?

Ie V10.4 upgrade to 10.5 then Aperture to 1.5.6?

No I upgraded from 1.5.5. But I did install Leopard a couple days ago. Then I did the update.

FYI I find 1.5.6 to be less reliable than 1.5.4 with a few new minor UI issues. It panics frequently on cropping, H&S and some others, but this is due to the x1900. The fix is TBD.

oh and i'm still computing in black and white (Tiger).

...wonder if 10.4.11 will arrive before 1.5.7....

Me too. after crash with blue screen. I installed clean Leoprad. Aperture doesn't work. it just bounces in dock and then crashes. Rubbish. 50 GB op photos there

Just updated Leopard but still crashing on export. Has anyone tried a re-install of Aperture?

Here's what "seems" to have solved the problem for me:
My aperture library is not on my boot disk
I went to the harddrive with the library and opened "get info"
Down at the bottom I checked "Ignore ownership on this volume"
so far so good

With the new OS upgrade today Aperture seems to have stopped crashing. Let's hope.

Btw, I had to run permisions after the OS upgrade in order to have it working correctly.

Hi,

Just a note to say that I had the same problem with Apetrue 1.5.6 under OS10.5.x . After you recommendation on color pickers, I looked under the root library (mine had none) and found a Tangarine colour picker folder. Deleted and problem solved.
