how do i put music on my iphone?

i just got my iphone today and they activated it in the store.
and when i came home and hooked it up to my computer nothing comes up except something asking how i was to view my pictures.

but i want to put my music on.
how do i do that?

you synch it to your iTunes library. The User's manual (located in the yellow boxes in this forum) is very self-explanatory.

i have no idea what synching it to my itunes means
i looked on itunes and there isnt anyplaces that says synch.

itunes doesnt even recognie that i have my iphone hooked up.

and i think i need to newest version of itunes,
but will i lose everything i have on my itunes now?
