Fuji Xerox DocuPrint 203A

Add this to the list of printers that no longer work. Re-installing the provided drivers did nothing at all. For our family, the only work-around at this point was to network a disused old PowerBook, still running 10.4.10, connect that laptop to the printer and print from there.

Apple simply must repair this obviously ubiquitous problem, which seems to affect basically every brand of printer. Apple cannot expect every printer company to stop what it's doing to create software for every one of its printers, old and new...Apple has to make a very quick patch NOW. There would be literally MILLIONS of unhappy Mac users right now. Hope they get the message!

I've worked out the problem with my DocuPrint 204A - which is a rebadged Brother HL-2040, for which there are Leopard included drivers. I can now print.

If you can work out what your 203A is and select that driver from the Brother list that should fix your problem!

PS- I rang the technical support number for Fuji Xerox in Australia, 1-800-811-177 and told them the good news. They were most grateful. If FX users have any further queries, that's the number to ring. I told them that they had to develop their own drivers for Leopard ASAP, so let's see what happens.

Great to hear you worked out a fix.. can you share what driver you used?

I've tried the brother HL-2040 and 2060 drivers.. deleting printers etc but still no go 😟

Hi Paul.
Had a bit of trouble with the Brother HL-2040 series CUPS driver, so I tried the Brother HL-2030 series CUPS one instead. It works, or at least it worked once. Hope that helps.

This link basically says that the Brother HL-2030 driver for 10.5 is not available for download, but is on the Leopard Install disc. I just installed it from the disc (load CD and click optional installs) and it works at least on USB.

Now if only I could get it working connected to my ExtremeN.

To the person who suggested using the Brother Driver, Thanks for the tip. I have spent at least 2 hours trying different drivers, and wish I had looked here first.

Many thanks to you all, but especially Don Hayes. Your thread on this has saved me from uninstalling Leopard. I tried a bunch of drivers without success, and a google search led me here. The Brother HL-2030 series CUPS driver works like a charm.

ya... that's right. I'm having problems with my Fuji Xerox Docuprint 203A as well. Since i installed leopard i couldn't use the printer. I've tried reinstalling the drivers and such but it didn't work.

I've even tried the Brother's drivers. The printer was able to function but it did not print any the intended documents that i wanted to print. It just keep rolling paper out.
