New MacBook Pro & Leopard - Airport Connection problems

Just upgraded to a new MacBook pro and Leopard. Every time the computer is switched on or comes back from sleep, the airport internet connection is lost.

When I try to reconnect to the network from the airport icon at the top of the screen all i get almost straight away is a 'connection timeout' message.

The only way to establish connection again is through system preferences/network/assist me/diagnostics.

I did not have any problems on my previous macbook and tiger with this connection.

I'm having the exact some problem after updating to leopard. I noticed there was a software update yesterday labeled "Keychain and Login".

After I shut the lid to my MBP it goes to sleep; when I re-open it doesn't find my only wireless network and I have to turn off airport and turn it back on.

I did an Erase and Install so it's clean. I also have one of the new Airport Extreme Base Station's.

I have the same issue after installing leopard on my MBP core Duo2. BUT it is intermittent, today for most of the day i could close the lid, it would go to sleep, then i would open safari and my default site would come up. Then suddenly it stops working where it shows "can't connect to the internet". Is there a fix for this yet? or how can this be communicated to apple for a fix asap?

I called apple support after long wait ended up in the network department and he could not solve the problem, they had me go through some standard stuff on my cable modem and linksys router but it didn't help.

Then I went to the apple store, there I can not duplicate the problem, it wakes up from sleep and connects fine. It's intermittent at home also all day yesterday no problem then it started up in the evening and today again. The genius at the store said waiting for leopard updates maybe the only way right now?

I am having this issue as well on my MBP 2.0 Ghz. It would make me feel warm and fuzzy if Apple would just acknowledge this problem. I had it with 10.4.10 and had to go back to 10.4.9. Maybe I should have waited to install Leopard after a few months. Now my MPB disconnects from the AEBS randomly.

When it freezes, the connection time is stopped and I have no options to go to disconnect under the SSID. It seems like something triggered the disconnect.

This *****, considering the premium I paid to go with AAPL...

for me the disconnect happens with power supply or battery no difference. what wireless router do you all have i have linksys, worked just fine with tiger OS.
this afternoon i tried at starbucks tested it there, sleep , wake up etc and i never got disconnected. however at home now it does it every time,as it has with other wireless networks. the inconsistency makes it hard to pinpoint.

to the post above: what did apple support do that seemed to fix the problem?

I have a Linksys wrt300n. Before that I had a Linksys wrt54g. This was an issue before Leopard (Tiger). Tech support had me shut the MBP down remove the battery and hold the power button down for 5 seconds. Next they had me put the battery back on, hold down the Apple Key, Option Key, "P" key and "C". While holding down those power the system back on and wait for the second start tone. Then the had me start the MBP in Safe Mode (Hold down the shift key while powering on until the gray apple screen appeared). Restart after it booted. Obviously didn't work.

This guy claims to have a fix:
