I've always liked the blue colour theme on my mac, but I'm finding the light blue folders in Leopard disappear into my blue desktop (I'm using Apple provided blue backgrounds). Can I change the appearance of all my folders (without having to do it one at a time and including new folders)?
Powerbook G4 15",
Mac OS X (10.5),
Just changed from 10.4.10
The application "Candybar" is terrificly easy at replacing system icons from folders to the finder icon in the dock to your home folder icon. Candybar does not work with Leopard yet but they have announced an imminent release for Leopard. Find it on either Macupdate or Versiontracker. You can also do a google search for Mac icons which will lead you to many icons you can download to replace any of the Apple icons you do not like. It's fun to personalize the aesthetic of your computer. I've been doing it since I purchased my first imac years ago and there's no side effects. p.s. Don't you love posters complaining about posters complaining?
I agree. I don't see why I should have to buy a program or hack the OS to fix simple design errors by Apple. Didn't anybody in the back room actually look at the desktop?
Exactly. I haven't purchased yet, because I find the new icons almost repulsive, and the Dock icons are nearly illegible. This Ars Technica review is spot on!
