On my mac duplicates???

In mail on the left hand side of the window under mailboxes, I have all of my different email accounts then I have a line that says "ON MY MAC" Under it is a folder that says import, and then in the import folder I have a folder that I imported.

The question I have is this "ON MY MAC" is duplicated. So I have 2 on my macs???

Any idea why this is and how to get rid of it?

Didn't work for me. But, I worked with a tech, Amber, at Apple and have an alternate resolution.

-Close all apps
-Move the mail folder at: users/"home folder"/library/Mail to the destop
-delete the com.apple.mail.plist from: users/"home folder"/library/preferences
-Logout and log back in
-Go to sys preferences and select .Mac; click on signout and delete the username from the login box; leave this pane open at that spot
-Open Apple Mail; you should be asked to go through the setup steps. Setup your email account(s)
-Go to file, import, mailboxes, select "Mail for OS X" and navigate to the Mail folder you moved to your desktop.
-Select "Mail" from that folder and select choose.

That should get you back to where you were.
