Everytime that i open up my ipod folder it is right where i left off with the song, only in pause mode. If i hit the play tab and then the home button the song will still be playing. Is there a stop button on the player? Or is hitting pause the only way to get the song to stop.

Windows Vista

The only other way is when you have your earphones plugged in, by pressing on the mic/clicker

You can actually access that pause button without accessing the ipod app, by pressing twice the home button (as long as you set the home button to to that when pressed twice Settings>General>Home Button)

Hitting pause is the only way to stop the song.
Also, the iphone tries to always go back to the last item viewed when you choose a program.
So, when you tap on an icon in the home screen, the iphone will try to pick up where you left off last time you where in that program.

    Hope this helps.

When is Apple going to come out with a pause button? Doesn't it waste battery for the music to be paused instead of stopped? I think they should come up with a new update with a STOP button on the Ipod feature of the Iphone.

    They alreay did.

It doesn't. On the iPhone, when you navigate away from a program (Safari, iPod, Mail, etc) it goes into suspended animation which does not use battery life. Its like a save state in the old emulators.

It would be the same as pausing. See above.
