Aurora Desktop on login screen

How do you replace Aurora desktop on the login screen

Dual CPU G4 1ghz each, Mac OS X (10.5)

awesome, many thanks, aurora was really beginning to annoy me!

what are apple doing with this image (and the packaging for the install dvd for that matter)? it looks like a dodgey rave flyer from the early 90's!

more importantly though, does anyone know how to change the sidebar desktop icon? this is still aurora (ok, i know it's only tiny but i still don't like it)

I'm happy enough with Leopard's features, but its aesthetics are a step backwards. "Aurora" is lame cover from a bad science fiction paperback, and the new icons are eyestrain drab.

Fussing under the hood with system icons is a nuisance, but for $29, CandyBar from Panic makes it painless. It provides an iPhoto-like way to manage your icon library, along with an interface for applying your choices system-wide.

It's particular nice to be able to try a new environment on for size, change your mind, and revert with a few clicks.
