Audio CD Burning Error 4850

I've been trying to burn some audio CD's for the car, and iTunes just can't seem to get it done. I've run windows update, and removed and re-installed the latest iTunes software, and ensured that my DVD RW drive is compatible.

Does anyone know how to get out of this loop?

I think that this problem is a result of an itunes update and correlates to when you purchased songs. I downloaded an album 9/13 (Calvin Harris). I burned that whole CD successfully. itunes had been popping up with "update" for a little while. I finally downloaded the update. I can't remember the date, but I do know I hadn't tried to burn any of my music until my purchase on 11/26. I tried those albums and got the 4450 error. I kept burning variations of mixes containing songs purchased within that time frame and it never worked. I recently downloaded an itunes update, I think it was on 12/6 or later. I purchased 4 four songs yesterday 12/9 and burned all four succesfully tonight. I also successfully burned a mix of songs that I had purchased prior (very prior like at least six months) to the Calvin Harris CD successfully. But right after that I failed to burn Calvin Harris successfully. So f me what the answer is... but if it has to do the time frame and the albums I purchased within it I want my money back, all the albums I purchased freely downloaded and the dollars I spent for all the CDs I lost trying to figure out what Apple should have known prior to there f ing updates.

Hi Everyone,

I've had the problem since I've upgraded to Vista, I thought it was a driver problem until I had no problem burning a CD using Media Player. However I managed to find a solution (although not ideal).

If you run a CD diagnotic in iTunes, you'll find it thinks you are not an administrator for some reason. So I created a new administrator account, and then saved my iTunes library and logged in as the new administrator account. All of a sudden the problem disappeared!!!

So it looks like iTunes can't see that I'm an administrator. If someone can tell me how to fix this particular element, I'd love it. As right now, if I want to burn a CD, I have to change account, and re-import the entire library. Bottom line is it's a pain, but at least I know it's not a driver or hardware problem.

Hope this helps everyone.
