I bought it, but now I'm disappointed. If I had it to do over again, I'd get this http://store.fastmac.com/productinfo.php?cPath=9_53_55&productsid=328

The Monster adapter has the headphones plug in down by the iPhone headphone jack. This means you have this huge adapter sticking out the top of your iPhone more than an inch. Very cumbersome.

The fastmac product allows you to plug the headphones in where the remote switch and microphone are, meaning the part of the plug that plugs into the iPhone isn't as obnoxious.

That would also be better for my Sony Fontopia headphones that have a very short cord, unless you use the included extension cord.

Yeah, the extra cord could be hard to deal with. It wouldn't be too bad for me because of my short headphone cord.

What I don't know is if the FastMac solution has any sort of clip to position the microphone/remote. If not, it could be hanging down by your bellybutton all the time, which wouldn't work out so well. The Shure adapter appears to have a clip, so that one would probably be fine.

The Monster adapter has lots of extra cord too, because the mic/ remote is on a separate cord. It does include little clips to clip it to the other headphone cord, but that doesn't work quite as well as hoped.

The mid-level ($9.95) and top-level ($19.95) have clips; the basic ($4.95) doesn't

I first discovered the Monster iSoniTalk product and had the same initial reaction to the physical layout and the bulky adapter, but after trial and error with each product (FastMac vs. Monster) I have come to the conclusion that the Monster product has superior audio quality in both the audio jack and the microphone. This of course is my opinion with my ears. I am using the WESTONE UM2 DUAL DRIVER IN-EAR EARPHONES for my comparisons. Your milage may vary...

I can see from the web sites that you can listen to the call with normal headphones, but what is the Mic functionality? I don't see it explained or stated anywhere, I assume I don't have to hold the iPhone up to my mouth while reply to someone on a call... but ya' never can tell.

Comments from those in the know are appreciated.
