VNC, from Windows to Mac

Similar problem here except I'm using TightVNC viewer on my laptop.

The initial connection is made, then when I enter the -correct- password (which was established on the iMac running Leopard) I get an "incorrect password" ERROR. This worked fine under Mac OS 10.4.10 and older. But Leopard has broken something.

I am having the same problem, as Leopards VNC server doesn't seem to support image compression with UltraVNC so its imposable to control over the internet as every screen refresh is done in true color making it VERY slow. Selecting something like 256 colors in UltraVNC will result in an immediate disconnect, any ideas if its possible to use Leopards VNC server with compression?

how do you make it to work so that my tightvnc client can connect to it remotely outside of my network?
i use port 5909 to setup vine server (server mode or not) and this worked great in tiger. now i simply cannot connect even though i added the vine application to leopard's firewall (or disable the firewall completely).

vine server was installed in tiger i used upgrade option to leopard. i did not re-install vine. i can vnc into vine via customized port 5909 within my network not not from outside.

I use VNC Viewer Free Edition 4.x and it stopped connecting after the upgrade to Leopard. After reading suggestions online and changing my color setting from 64 colors up to Full Colors, now can connect to the server again. Slow screen paint, but at least I can connect again. Thanks.
