I am not sure what you are getting at here. Is your XP installation currently a full Parallels virtual machine, or did you first install XP via Bootcamp before Parallels?

The only thing that Bootcamp really lets you do is carve up your physical hard drive to allow OS X on one partition and windows on another partition, and then provides Windows-specific drivers. It is NOT virtualization software like Parallels.

So... if you have installed Windows into a Parallels virtual machine, you are basically stuck with that..

Mule,

That is exactly correct. You would need to reinstall Windows XP via Bootcamp (which would reduce the amount of space on your drive that OS X has available as it would carve out that space for Windows) and then created a new Parallels "virtual machine" that points to Bootcamp. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any tool/utility that would convert your existing Parallels install into a real, physical disk image...
