messages moved from trash back to inbox disappear

I consistently lose emails that I try to move back to the inbox from the trash.

To reproduce this do as follows:

1)From wihtin the mail application on your iPhone go into your inbox.
2)Select an arbitrary message and go into it.
3)Click the trashcan icon on the bottom of the screen to move it to the trash.
4)Go back to your mailbox list and select "trash".
5)Open the message you just trashed
6)Click the icon to move the message to another folder on the bottom of the screen.
7)Select the inbox and watch the animation of the message being moved there.
8)Go back to the mailbox list and select "inbox".
9) get upset because the message is not there, its not anywhere, its been deleted. 😟

I'm having this problem too. It's still happening with 1.1.2. It's happening to me with 3 POP3 accounts as well as Gmail configured through the iPhone. I think it's an issue with how Mail.app is handling POP3 accounts on the iPhone. From what I've heard, this isn't happening with IMAP accounts.

I really want this to get fixed. It started in 1.1.1 for me and I hoped that 1.1.2 would fix it. I've reported it a few times to Apple.

For the record, I have all 4 of these accounts setup as POP3 accounts in Outlook 2007 on my laptop as well.

I just logged in to report a newly discovered issue when I saw this thread. I accidentally touched the trash icon while reading an email just now. Have a Comcast POP3 account. Went to the Trash folder and tried to move it back to the Inbox. Got an alert saying it could not be moved and the message disappeared. Nowhere to be found and full of pictures I wanted to share. 😟
