Hello Jeremy

If you are looking at the back of the Mac the audio output/headphone jack is the first one on the left side. If you are looking over the top and down the back it's the far right, the other jack by the USB port is for input. Then go to: "Apple / System Preferences / Sound" and select "Output" with nothing plugged in to the jack you will see "Internal Speakers" then when you plug in you external speakers it should now read "Headphones." At this point look down at the "Output Volume" and adjust the slider.

Let us know it that still doesn't get it going?

I just got my new IMac and Soundsticks 2 a few days ago. Initially, I had issues with no sound too, but it is easily resolved.

Plug the input for the speakers into the far left port (if you are facing the back of your machine).

Under system preferences, go to sound and make sure you are not muted. Beyond that, take a close look at the right Soundstick -- it has touch sensitive volume controls at its base. Touch the heat sensitive right/+ control until you have sound on your right and left speakers.

The sub has a volume dial on the back. If this does not work, then hit me back and I will take it a step further.
