User Event Agent (Not Responding)

In Activity Monitor, I'm seeing that the process called User Event Agent is in red letters and "not responding". Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it?

I have the exact same problem. Started as soon as i upgraded to leopard. Everytime I force quit the process (UserEventAgent), it simply launches again as (not responding).

It doesn't seem to be adversely affecting anything... but it would be good to know what's going on.
I just restarted and both the usereventagent and finder were not responding. I had to force relaunch the finder, so maybe its something to do with that?

I also had the same problem with the User Event Agent crashing after recently upgrading to Leopard OSX 10.5.1, but have found a possible fix.

After uninstalling the OSS 3D 2.3b6 iTunes sound enhancement plugin, the problem appears to be fixed and my system seems to be running more smoothly. For your info, there's a recent update to OSS 3D, which may fix this problem without uninstalling the application.

The Problem had been resolved here:
http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-377888.html

It appears to be Protools related (drivers)

applewiz: hey, me again... i was just coming back to tell you that i found that my digidesign core audio plug in (located in Library>Audio>Plug ins>HAL) was causing the problem. Deleted the plug in and n more 'not responding'... hmmm, obviously a similar issues. This is a lame question but how/where did you get the log in? Thanks!

I had the same problem. The previous resolution fixed my issues, and the user agent is running fine now.

Hi
Ive seen all the posts here but want to ask.
If i delete this bluetooth plugin am i going to be left with no bluetooth connectivity? I also use a Digidesign Mbox and had the drivers installed in my 10.4.11 system. I cloned that system to firewire drive and upgraded to 10.5 and let the set up assistant copy all my users apps etc from there into the new 10.5.1.
I cant find the digi design driver anywhere now in the 10.5.1 system. Can anyone say for sure that this driver was the culprit? If so where is it now?
Furthermore, i cannot sync my Nokia N73 as i could before i upgraded to Leopard. I wonder if this is because of the bluetooth plugin problem.
Sorry this is so badly written...
cheers
david
