Cannot connect to youtube???

hmm does it allow you to connet to safari?

hmm well I have heard that while some routers allow web browsing they have restricted video streaming through the YouTube app, as well as some other problems that deal with wiFi.

1. I would first try restoring your iPod
2. If that doesnt work then try a different wi-fi hotspot at a friends house or somthing. That way you know that if it works there its not somthing wrong with the iPod itself.
3. If all else fails look into gettin it repaired or replaced.

Yesterday, I could connect to Youtube just fine. Today, I get the error message, "Cannot connect to Youtube". I can look at bookmarked Youtube videos, but that's it.

It came back by itself...

How I fixed this: I had the problem - "Cannot connect to Youtube" - even though I could play bookmarked videos and had internet connection. The router was ruled out as the cause. I discovered that the DATE and TIME of my iPod touch was completely wrong. In fact, it thought it was 2006. When I corrected the date/time on the settings, voila, youtube connected again.

This helped me as well. I noticed the time change but not the date which mysteriously flipped back to 2003! Everything works fine now.. thanks a million!

I have the same problem but I would like to add a few things: I can connect to Safari, access my mail etc, but get the message, cannot connect to Youtube and Itunes. However, if I look at my bookmarks no image of the videos appear but if I tap them, they do play! In Itunes it is no go all the way. I have 1.1.1 and looked at the date and time and it was already correct. I have this problem using all kinds of WIFI connections and worked fine before. I have done a soft reset (keeping all data) and that did not work.

I pretty much have the same story. I was able to access everything fine until a few days ago, then for no reason I couldn't connect to safari or to youtube even though I was connected to my wifi connection. Then for a little while I was able to access some websites an iTunes. After updating the firmware I'm now able to browse the internet using Safari, browse iTunes and view my bookmarks in youtube, but whenever I try to do a search or tap on featured videos etc. I get the 'Unable to Connect to Youtube' error message. This is driving me nuts. Does anyone have any idea why this happens?

Just wanted to give a HUGE thanks... this helped me out as well. Odd that my date and time have flipped back twice now, but I suppose that's another issue to research.:-)
