Macbook Pro Keyboard Issues

I have a Macbook Pro that I purchased in June, and I just upgraded it to leopard using the Archive and install method, and I must say I love the new os. However I now have an intermittent issue with the keyboard and trackpad where both become unresponsive and i have no choice but to connect an external mouse or restart the computer. It's really strange as I could be typing one moment and the next it doesn't recognize any keyboard input. This seems to be most prevalent when the computer is returning from sleep. I have been reading the forums and it seems for some people this was due to a incompatable kext but I have searched my system and I don't have the kext that seemed to give them the trouble. I have also checked with my cousin who recently installed leopard on his 17 powerbook and it seems he is having the same issue. Any help with this would be appreciated, thank you.

Same here. This is on a MacBook Pro that I bought about a month ago. Now with Leopard the keyboard and trackpad stops working at completely unpredictable moments. The only thing that helps is to connect an external keyboard/mouse and reboot.

I have no weird extensions or software installed. This is basically a clean Leopard install with just my favorite applications added.

Here is the kext I had read about from the other threads for you
Quote:

"I also was using SideTrack... I just deleted sidetrack completely and now keyboard works... Here's the trick -- make sure you completely remove the following directories then perform a restart. Good luck!

/System/Library/Extensions/SideTra ck.kext
/Library/PreferencePanes/SideTrack .prefPane
/Library/StartupItems/SideTrack"

This doesn't help my situation though because I don't use logitech mice or keyboards.
