How to remove intego icon from the menu bar

If you want to completely remove Intego, do this:

1) Download Easyfind from Devon Technologies.
2) Search your entire hard disk for files and folders with the name 'intego' in it, and move them all to the trash.
3) Search your entire hard disk for files and folders with the name 'netupdate' in it, and move them all to the trash.
4) Search your entire hard disk for the other individual files (contentbarrier, etc.) and move them all to the trash.
5) Restart your Mac
6) Empty the trash.

This is how I did it to remove NetUpdate and Contentbarrier now that Leopard has Parental Controls built in - which work really good, I must say.

Open Applications>NetUpdate. Click the 'Preferences' icon in the top right-hand corner. At the bottom of the pane which opens uncheck 'Show the Intego Menu in the menu bar'.

This will not affect any other programs.

Why would Toast be used with an Intego program?

And installing a new OS with a program/suite that may not yet be updated to be compatible.
