This is a very fustrating situation: You go to a web page and you try to read the whole article but the iphone just thinks you are finished and goes back automatically to the main page. I have read the other post and nothing that was given in advise helped. Apple you got to solve this are you will loose customers.
Safari is quitting and returning to the Home screen?
If so, try a Reset by pressing and holding the Home key and Sleep/Wake or On/Off key simultaneously until you see the white Apple logo and then release. This can take up to 10 seconds and ignore the slide to turn off prompt during the process.
This does not affect and data or settings.
If this doesn't help, try clearing the Safari cache which may have some corruption.
How much free storage space do you have available on your iPhone?
In addition to the suggestion from Allan Sampson, do you notice this happening with particular webpages, or any webpage? If specific pages, which ones?
This happens to me too all the time. It is not website specific and reseting using the hold and power stops it for a little while but it always happens again.
