Upgraded Boot Camp with Leopard - now constant restart

If you are in safe mode, you should be able to plug your USB mouse in and navigate to the System Configuration Utility. Thats how I did it.

It's an obscure file path. Let me look it up and I'll post it.

Click Start then Help and Support.

Under the Heading Pick a task choose Use TOOLS to view your computer information and diagnose problems.

There will be a list of TOOLS.

Scroll down to System Configuration Utility.

Then choose to open it. You're in!

I tried it, and it did not work. My brother had an extra copy of an earlier drivers disk. I will use that until Apple comes up with an update.

Just to clarify.

Did you try to disable the Time service through the System Configuration Utility and you could not.

Did you disable the time service utility and the system keeps restarting?

I disabled the time service utility (thanks for finding the path for me) and it still continually restarted.

I disabled Apple Time services. And my windows problem is fixed! No more restarting. Thanks.

I don't think it's Apple Time Services.

Although it seemed to work for me all day yesterday. This morning I was back to constant restarting.

I went through and disabled/ re enabled apple services 1 by 1. None of the services items got me back in today.

I went on to the Startup tab and disable kbdMgr.

Which stops the Boot Camp Services from loading at startup.

In my previous version of BootCamp I had un installed BCS completely.

I'm going to eave it like this for today and see how things go.

I tried disabling the kbdMgr, and it still constantly restarted. It was working just fine yesterday. I have also disabled the Apple Time Service, and it did nothing. Any other ideas?

Based on what I can see from searching the boards we are in a very very small minority.

As far as disabling different services goes. If you get into windows un install the BootCamp Services from the Add/Remove programs menu.

That will leave all the critical drivers, and should stop the re booting. This is the only thing that has worked for me with any degree with repeatability.

By any chance has anyone with this problem in XP tried to load Vista?

I wonder if I just go to Vista if this problem will go away.

I am still giving apple the benefit of the doubt.

I've had many service issues that have been resolved with stellar results.

I'm not happy, but they've earned a little patience from me.

The fat32 thing is probably unrelated.

That sounds like a good idea. I'm going to try it.

well I just learned about an official windows bug the hard way.

when doing a repair install from the cd there is a bug that prevents you from installing windows updates.

This *****. I don't even wan't to run windows I have to. Grumble grumble.

Isn't there anyone out there that knows whatto do?

Ps. My computer is still restarting.
