ipod only plays part of downloaded song

Downloaded a song from iTunes, it only plays 56 seconds of the song on my iPod although it plays the whole thing on my pc. iPod video screen shows the whole song is there(timer is correct length), but it won't play the whole thing. Don't want to reboot the whole iPod for one song. Can I delete it from my iPod somehow and then put it back on without deleting it from my library and buying it again?
