loading new OS on the "wrong" machine

Folks

I just got some new software from eBay, and it is a grey copy of iBook G4 10.3.5, with updater to 10.3.9.
I have an iMac G3 500MHz, 2001 version.

1) Should I load this version on my machine?
2) Any undue hazards?

No. It will only install on the iBook G4 model it is designed for.

This is what a retail Panther disk looks like. A lot of machine specific disks (what you bought) end up on E-Bay. Retail is the only way to go.

FastMac has a retail copy; it's the $89.00 one.
