Click & drag

I've had Leopard since last Friday. Today I discovered that I cannot drag any object. All other functions of the mouse seem to work. I've been using a Logitech wireless mouse and have tried the original USB Mac mouse with the same results.

I believe this is a Logitech driver issue. See if they have Leopard-compatible drivers.

For my mouse, the MX900, logitech has never issued a Mac driver.
On my G5, it works perfectly under Leopard. Actually better than with Tiger.

Update:
I just installed my BT MX900 on my Leopard MBP. It works perfectly. Drag, whatever.
It must be something else.

I have this same issue using the trackpad on my MacBook Pro. It works fine for a user that I created from scratch, but for a user that I used Migration Assistant on, Click and Drag is not working.

It might be a corrupted .plist
The mouse .plist is
com.apple.driver.AppleHIDMouse.plist
There might be others associated with the mouse.

Have you done a file permission verify/repair? That's another possibility.

Greetings,

My Logitech Trackman Wheel drags fine, as does my Mighty Mouse and the original one button Apple Mouse, after the original install of Leopard and it's still OK after the 10.5.1 update.

You may need to open up System Preferences and take a look at the Mouse/Keyboard setup. Or you may be able to do an SMC/PRAM reset to correct things.

Good Luck - Cheers,
M.

This may help all of you who have had this problem after converting to Leopard. I have spent the last 6 days testing and retesting why I could not drag & drop files or folders, except from my desktop. This occurred ONLY on my Mac Pro and not on my MacBook Pro or an old 12" I use for travel. I tried everything, and I mean everything, including all the recommendations on the Apple site. Today I went out and bought a Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000, as some of the threads discussed Logitech issues. However, even after Zapping all Logitech programs, It was still occurring. I loaded the software for the new mouse and connected the 6000, while disconnecting my Logitech remote, before I reboot. This completely solved my problems, and it has not recurred even after 6 reboots. In the end, the only difference on all the computers was the mouse, and it was the cause of all my "issues." I hope this helps
