Where's my Outbox when I need it?

Where's my Outbox when I need it?

If I change my mind about a large email that I'm currently sending and want to edit it again, I click on an icon in the 'progress' window to stop sending it and it'll go in my Outbox.

But since I upgraded to Leopard, the Outbox isn't visible in the left-hand menu.

So I have to do a Spotlight search to find my unsent email (see screen grab below). Then open it from there, or click 'Show in mailbox' for my Outbox to appear.

Any idea how I can make my Outbox mailbox stay there, in the left-hand menu? Or of any other solution that doesn't take as long as my bodge job above!

iMac (Mid-2007), Mac OS X (10.4.10), 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo

I meant to say 'activity' rather than 'progress' window, by the way. But you get my drift, I hope.

You don't need to do a search, use the shortcut command 3, or use the mailbox drop down menu and then the go to tab.

You could also create a new mail and save it as a draft, and leave it, that way the Draft file will stay in side bar.

When you stop the send before it's sent, the email goes to your Drafts box. Why not just click on the Drafts box instead of searching for it? Or am I missing something (if so, pardon the interruption)?

Yes, you'd think so, wouldn't you!

Mailbox > Go To > Outbox is greyed out, unfortunately. It's Command 2, on mine by the way,

Really? Mine goes into the Outbox. Is there some kind of setting I'm missing?

I wouldn't call this a fix since there's clearly a bug in the mail program. However, I got the outbox to appear by searching for the message I wanted to edit using spotlight (not the e-mail search), clicking on the message in the spotlight menu (not drafts box) and then clicking on the "show in mailbox" tab. The outbox stayed there when I got back online, but was gone the next time I restarted.

Yes, the 'show in mailbox' trick is what I use at the moment (see first post). As you say, it looks like a bug. I'll send feedback and hope it's addressed in a future update.

Just discovered this nifty little bug myself today. Boy, Leopard is really bug city, I'm definitely regretting the upgrade. I was glad to find the 'show in mailbox' trick, although then once I went to re-send the message, it duplicated it for some reason and sent it twice, so now my business contact thinks I'm a moron because I sent him this super large attachment TWICE thanks to moronic Mail.app.

Another interesting thing though, is that after finding the email via 'show in mailbox' and opening it, it actually displayed the MP3 attachment as the old Tiger quicktime player (w/progress bar) as opposed to when I first composed the message and it would only display it as an icon. I thought they had just removed that feature for some reason, but nope! Another bug!
