New midi keyboard user (emu xboard 61) - Cant get it to work?

Hi,

I can't seem to get logic to read my synth properly... It is hooked up via USB and I cant get logic to make any sounds with any of the instruments, although when I make a sound using the in-built keyboard (hitting shift lock to use the computer keyboard to enter notes) and then press some notes on the keys of the xboard it seems to modify the sound, the pitch bend seems to work fine aswel. I just cant use the keys to create notes!!

Can anyone help as this is extremely frustrating?!

Kindest regards

Dan

Hi thanks for the reply,

the thing is, my keyboard is controling everything else fine, if I use the inbuilt keyboard on logic to make the sounds and then use pitch bend on my xboard it works fine, and also the other controllers on the xboard such as attack, decay etc... its just the keys on the keyboard. I can see that logic recognises there is a signal coming from them as some numbers flash up in one of the display bars but it doesnt trigger anything...

Is there an easy solution to this?

There are a lot of parameters that you can customize by yourself into the Control Surface preferences.

Have a look to see how to configure your keyboards controllers to eork with Logic.

Verify, into the MIDI implementation document, which are the Korg buttons and sliders that send messages and which is their value.

You can find more help in the Logic document:

http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/ControlSurfacesSupport.pdf

There is described the procedure to assign your controllers.

cheers
