iBook G4 will not turn on

Question

iBook G4 will not turn on

I have an iBook G4 14" screen computer that I received back in 2005. I've already had the logic board replaced (summer 2006) and today it decided it won't turn on. My husband took the battery out while it was sleeping (grrrr) and now that it's been replaced it won't turn on at all.

This is what I've tried:

pressing power, listening for some activity
checking the charger for power
taking the battery out and trying to turn on with just charger
pressing shift-ctrl-option-power, wait 5 secs power
putting pressure on the left side of the trackpad and pressing power button

nothing is turning this on.
When I tilt the computer from side to side I hear something rolling around. I'm stumped because I just used the computer and I didn't drop it and I didn't hear anything breaking.....

Any advice?

It's still under warranty.

If it's still under warranty, then it's Apple's problem and you should call them or take it in. There shouldn't be anything loose rolling around inside. Does it sound like it might be a loose screw or nut? Maybe something wasn't properly tightened when the logic board was replaced.

Yes, it does sound like a screw or a nut rolling around. I'll be taking it in on Monday.

Ok,

So I took my computer in and there was a screw out from the main power board. He also (before he fixed this) held my power button down for 10 seconds and it ended up turning on. Something about clearing something out - PRAM?

Anyway,

I had my computer open - the battery was almost gone and no warning - it just shut down....well I plugged it in and it won't turn on. I took the battery out and plugged it in and it won't turn on, I held the button down for 10-30 seconds and it still won't turn on. The battery is now fully charged and it isn't turning on. help?

Check out the Apple Knowledge Base article on troubleshooting portables that won't turn on or start up.
Maybe something there will help.

Thanks Rhonda, I've previously done all that. My iBook ended up needing a new logic board anyway. This is my second one and I'm concerned that when my apple care runs out it's going to happen again.
