How does Apple trace your legal copy of Leopard?

I bought a Family Pack of Leopard because i have a lot of computers in my house. Family Pack clams that you get 5 serial Keys. When I install the software there's no indication to enter a key, nor am I even given a key. When done I then register. Is registering the only way apple knows it's legit? Or is there an internal coded key every-time one installs?

It's probably an honor system, but then, who knows?
If enough people flaunt the rules, I am sure Apple will do what MS does. Let's hope it never comes to that. $40 per computer is a very small price to pay for the Leopard family pack.
