Gmail doesn't remember my contacts in Safari (and Safari only)

Wonder if anyone has had this problem or might know how to solve it. Ever since I installed the Login and Keychain update for Leopard, Gmail seems to have forgotten my contacts, but only when I use Safari. Usually when I start typing a contact name, Gmail autofills the contact's email address, but now the only addresses it remembers are those who show as available for Google Talk. I switched to Camino and it works fine. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Clavin

I don't have Leopard installed, so I can't track what you're noticing. I know Safari 3 Beta has a bug affecting the Auto-fill. When I quit Safari the auto-fill entries are erased. Wonder if Safari 3.0.4 fixed the bug?

Have you tried removing the Google entries in your Safari Preferences>Auto-fill>Password section (select "edit" and scroll the list). Then retry Google. The Password acceptance panel ought to appear, to which you would "accept".

Also, you might try via Keychain Access>Keychain Menu the Keychain First Aid>Repair option in case corruption exists in your Keychain file.

Tried that, but it didn't work. My password autofills aren't being affected, just the contacts that I have saved in Gmail. When I start typing a contact name, Gmail starts autofilling from my saved contacts, but not when I'm using Safari. The only contacts that it remembers are those who are available to chat using Googletalk...

Yes, I have the same problem. I am still on the trusted Tiger 10.4.11 with the new Safari 3.0.4. On the new version of Gmail the quto fill-in fn my contacts does not work whereas the on the older older version, it does.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to let Googles know of this as this clearly cannot be a Safari problem!

I have noticed this problem since the new Gmail version came out and I cannot find any settings or anything to get this corrected.

Is this a gmail problem or a Safari problem? I have the same issues. If I start to type an address in gmail, it will appear in its full form but whereas previously I just had to click on that full address and it would automatically appear, now I have to type it out manually.

At least the HTML works in gmail now if using the new Safari. But there are obviously bugs which need to be corrected by Apple and/or Google.
