iTunes 7.5 not recognizing iPhone

Just today I updated to 7.5 iTunes. The Update went smoothly, even all my Playlists and all are intact and sorted.

Problem is when I now first connected (after update) my iPhone to the PC, iTunes gave an UnKnown Error (sorry I didnt note it down) and then now everytime I connect to my Vista based PC, just a Camera Device appears in My Computer as usual, but iTunes doesn't show any device connected.

Please help me out guys....

In my case this error [0xE8000001] never occurred before upgrading from iTunes for Windows 7.5 to 7.6 (and from iPhone software 1.1.2 to 1.1.3).

A complete uninstall and reinstall of all software does absoluely nothing save to reinstall buggy software that was obviously shoved out the door, inadequately tested, to coincide with MacWorld.

The only solution is to force the phone into recovery mode and restore. After half an hour, you synch one time. Then you do it all over again.

iPhone not recognized by iTunes on Windows computer, however your iPod will?

The iPhone CAMERA appears in windows My Computer - but nowhere else?

Apple really needs to put this solution up...

From Device Manager, Select the iPhone (under imaging/Portable Devices) and then select "Update Driver" (mine had a Microsoft Driver which enables the camera/storage, but did not allow it to connect with iTunes). Don't direct it to automatically search for a driver, instead, manually point it to search in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers - It should then "do it's thing" and install the correct apple driver - voila - iPhone is then recognized.

I have been looking for this solution for HOURS and it worked. So I registered here just to reply to this so someone else could benefit. I tried reinstalling, didn't work. Made sure the services were started.. yes. It was showing up as a camera in vista and I updated it to that driver and worked like magic. Thanks!
