How to start from zero with a Newton 130?

I bought a very nice Newton 130 today, cool little thing!

But,I want to start from zero, with a fresh system,so that the name of the previous owner is gone, and I can really make it my own....

Is there a way to reset the Newton?
I know about the reset button, but that doesn't clean the complete system off course.

You will need to do a hard reset. If you have a manual it you can look it up. i don't have mine here, but I think it is

Hold the "on switch in the on position."
at the same time press and hold the Reset botton on the back.
hold the reset button down for at least three seconds.

a message on the screen should come up asking you if you want to do a hard reset and that all saved information will be lost. tap yes. This will reset the newton back to the factory settings. If you set password protection this is the only way to get by it. Keep in mind, that i think some programs that may have been added after, will be deleted also.

good luck. and let me know if it worked. if not I will get my maual out at home and post again.

Yea, the little maual is very handy and full of information. I spent a lot of time going over it and was supprised at all the cool little things the newton can do. the 130 is great for its size, back lighted screen and you don't need any special batter holder. But the speed and power of the 2100 is great and very much needed if you like to hand write stuff like i do. the text conversion is much improved with the 2100 with OS 2.x Battery life is 4x better also on the 2100.

Have fun with it
