I've created some widgets with safari, and would like to make available to friends/distribute on a website of some sort. Just need to know where they're stored first.
Dashboard widgets are stored in one of two places: user widgets are stored in ~/Library/Widgets, while system widgets are stored in /Library/Widgets. Widgets are stored in widget packages, which are just directories with a .wdgt extension. Each widget package has to have at least three files:
Info.plist, a properties list that has the setup information for a widget.
A default background image in the PNG format.
A default HTML page to load when the widget is run.
I need to restore my old Tiger Stickies that have gone AWOL since my upgrade to Leopard... I have my Tiger back up still but can't find the dratted things.
Same problem-after somewhat troublesome upgrade to Leopard requiring an archive and reinstall I too lost my stickies widget (along with some important data stored there). Have you had any luck finding yours? I found a file called "stickies database"- but its a text edit file with some gibberish.
I knew where the widgets are stored, it was the data I needed access too. All I've managed to do is scavenge the text out of the stickies database to manually re-create my notes.
