Best iPhone-Compatible Earbuds?

I stopped in an Apple store today. They sell the Vmoda Vibe Duo but not the Ultimate Buds. I was hoping I could demo the Vibe Duo but they do not have demos, just offered me to return it if I was not happy.

Anyway, I am still looking for feedback from anyone who can compare the Vibe Duo and the Ultimate Buds.

Vlade...I have found what I consider to be the perfect replacement headphones that have great sound, a cord management system while being worn, tangle free cord, in canal buds. Have terrific sound and do not rob you blind. I recommend that you give them a try...you have nothing to loose. When I am not using bluetooth, these are my primary headphones.

They also fit in the receptacle "without" an extender or adapter. The click function's on the in cord microphone work exactly the same as the stock headphones.

Try the Rivet earbuds. I've been really happy with mine. They have a microphone and the pause button on the cord...(and it's a fabric cord), they're comfortable in the ear, and they sound great. PLUS...they cost a lot less than the others!

He's looking for headsets that are specifically for iPhone--with mic and in-line control clicker. I think he mentioned that a few times, actually.

Thanks Frozo, that is exactly what I am looking for. I have narrowed between the Ultimate Buds and Vmoda Vibe Duo - just waiting for a couple more opinions before I pull the trigger. It seems you can't really demo either one without buying them.

I am in the same boat as you, but I think Im going to go with the new Voda's. Check the store return policies. I bought Bose headphones a few months ago at the Apple Store and hated them, so I returned and got my money back, no questions asked. You can do this within 14 days of purchase.

2 things. In your snippy response which was totally inappropriate for a forum where we are supposed to be helping each other, you corrected me on my post about the Rivet earbuds. They ARE exclusively for the iPhone. I thought that was clear when I wrote that they have the microphone and the pause button on the cord.

Secondly, how could you hate the Bose earbuds? They were terrific.

Sounds like someone's looking for an argument. First of all, my response wasnt to you, it was to Mk Gonda, as the thread hierarchy shows (take another look). In fact, I never even saw your post, as it was way down at the bottom--in a totally seperate branch than the one I was commenting on. Wow, it really isn't just about you.

The original post was about iPhone specific headphones WITH mic and music control. A few people (no, not you) had referred to standard earphones that fit the iPhone, yet didnt have the controls (so they were mistakenly off topic). So I WAS helping the thread by sticking with the subject at hand.

Secondly, the Bose headphones sounded ok, but they were painful for my ears and would not stay in securely-even after trying all 3 silicone attachments. Poor design, IMO, as I have never had that kind of trouble with any other earpiece before.

So I guess it was determined that the V-Moda's are the best. I need to get a new plair this week (I think I will go at lunch to the Apple store)

I just received my Ultimate Buds ER-6i. I love them - tremendous sound quality. I did a lot of research and I believe this is currently the best iPhone Headset.

Ive tried non-iPhone versions of those earphones and they were pretty good, but I prefer more bass. It comes down to one question to help choose between 2 earphones. How do you prefer your bass? More realistic/less bass: Ultimate Buds. More bass/warmer sound: Voda.

Yes, they are actually created using the stock iPhone headset. The wire/mic are the same.. they just re-wire better earpieces.
