scan with canon MP520?

Bought a new MacBook 2.2GHz and a Canon multifunction printer for a rebate deal. I love both but am having trouble getting anything to scan properly. I have it hooked up to a new airport extreme 802.11n base station. It prints and copies perfectly, just won't scan. Has anybody been able to scan with this or any Canon multifunction?

MacBook 2.2GHz, iMac G4, Mac OS X (10.5), iPod 5G, iPhone 8GB, Airport Extreme 802.11n

There's is no such thing as networked scanning in the computer world (unforunately). You must connect your Canon multifunction printer to your Mac and do it from there.
