forcing a backup

Hi,

I'm using Time Machine on a laptop that is carried on me all the time. I want to be able to plug in my Time Machine drive and force it to back up straight away.. so I can keep being portable and bring it with me on the road.

At the moment, when I get to my studio I plugin the time machine drive and I have to wait an hour or so before it backs up?! It definitely isn't backing up as soon as I plug it in. Often I can't wait an hour. Is there a way to force a backup?

If you have the Time Machine icon in the dock, just right click (er, control click) on it and select "back up now."

Done.
