Apr 5, 2008 1:40 AM in response to roseyboyby tomshen,APPLE PEOPLE (people who work at Apple)... GO TO WORK!
...and make the radio remote work with iPod Touch/iPhone.
It's a very easy thing and I don't see why not. Like other fellows in this discussion have said, you can at least change tracks with radio remotes from other brands.
The Apple branded radio remote is a much better quality piece of accessory and everyone knows Apple makes a killing on these accessories. So... WE WANT TO BUY IT (I've already bought one... ****!!) AND USE IT WITH OUR iPOD TOUCH AND iPHONE!
So please, go to work, and make it work.
...ok, it's Saturday today, but on Monday... go to work! -
Apr 5, 2008 5:41 PM in response to tomshenby deggie,Since it is "a very easy thing" why don't you get out your tools and convert yours?
Or, since Apple engineers don't read this site:

Jun 30, 2008 1:43 AM in response to Keith Owenby sterlsilver,Keith, I don't think you're quite understanding the situation here.
The current iPod Radio Remote does not access Wi-Fi in any way, whatsoever.....hence the reason it still is able to tune into the radio using an iPod Video, iPod Classic, or iPod Nano. If the Radio Remote relied on Wi-Fi, you couldn't use it with these devices.
The Radio Remote functions as the FM tuner and antenna, itself. It would (theoretically) still do this if made compatible with the iPhone or iPod Touch.....hence, it would have no reason to access the 3G OR Wi-Fi network to play radio.
Personally, I'm betting on the fact that this functionality will be either included in the iPhone Update 2.0, or show up in some form on the App Store very soon. -
