I saw your offer to help and wondered if you could point me in the right direction, I have an ipod nano which I registered with Itunes and downloaded quite a lot. Since that time, about 6 months ago, my laptop has been in the be upgraded and the lovely people wiped everything off it. Itunes is now telling me I am registered on a different store and I do not want to sync the ipod as it will wipe off everything I have. What do I do? Any help you can offer would be much appreciated.
I went through the same issue a few days ago and could not believe the frustration I felt! Apple, if you read this, more customer service please!!

I'll take this opportunity to pipe in! (just been searching for an Apple support email)
Just attempted to install the 10.4.11 update... Software Update said it failed, and to recover from trash and run again. Did as I was told and rebooted and the system won't boot! Its just running the Apple logo and the "cog".
I've chimed in on a discussion thread regarding this issue (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5858917#5858917) but if anyone can help that would be great!
I need help as well. I had to restore and now my music on my ipod music list is showing up "dimmed" font. My library is ok and my list is in dark fonts. I just purchased a new song from itunes but i cannot load it on my ipod. Why is my music list on my ipod "dimmed" and I cannot load my new music ???
I Really need help with my ipod video 30GB.
Everytime i connect it to my mac, itunes then tells me "the ipod 'ipod name' cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-48)."
now it tells me that the ipod is registered with a different computer?
i also had the error " Attempting to copy to the disk 'ipod name' failed. an unknown error occurred (-48)."
now my ipod is blank
PS. apple really do need an email address that people can send their questions to!
