Brother QL-500 Label printer

I use the above printer for stationary labels on a USB connection. I use PearlLabelizer software. However, since installing Leopard it no longer works, and I cannot locate a new driver. Any help?

In relation to the issue of using a Brother QL-500 printer on Leopard, there is still no sign of an updated driver from Brother. I would have to conclude that Brother have no interest in supporting their products on the Apple platform, and that therefore buying Brother products is an extremely foolish decision. I have learnt an expensive lesson.

Hi,

In answer to Petr B, I have now downloaded the US version and after adjusting the paper size to a label size of 1.1/7 in. * 31/2 in. (very strange measurements!) it is working fine. I have also found with this printer and using Pearl Labeliser software, that it has to be set as the default printer. Clearly there are some quirks in the Brother software.

Many thanks to Petr B for your help. It is very much appreciated.

I've gotta agree with that. I have a PT-2700 that I use to create tape labels. Although the software is extremely buggy and I have to trash my preferences repeatedly, the documentation is a joke, and the user interface is inexcusably bad, I have been able to use it to generate labels using data extracted from a PostgreSQL database. Unfortunately, I have come to depend on this solution, and I don't see any other products out there that can replace it.

So this means I'm effectively prohibited from installing and using Leopard until they get off their lazy behinds and update their substandard software! I bought Leopard more than three months ago, and it's just sitting there gathering dust while I wait... and wait... and wait....

Before this happened I was on the verge of buying a Brother multifunction laser printer. I'm not going to do that anytime soon now, and if this goes on much longer it ain't ever happening!
